Therapy in Portuguese, anywhere in Ontario
Some things can only be said in your first language — the words for home, for family, for missing someone. If Portuguese is the language you think and feel in, you should not have to translate yourself in therapy, too.
I'm Rebeca Pereira, a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying). I offer therapy in Portuguese and English by secure video, across Ontario — and switching between the two mid-sentence is completely welcome here.
Who this is for
- Portuguese speakers from Brazil, Portugal, Angola, Mozambique, and beyond, now living in Ontario
- People who grew up speaking Portuguese at home
- Couples where one or both partners speak Portuguese
- Anyone who simply feels more themselves in Portuguese
Themes that often come up
- Saudade and separation from family
- Cultural adaptation stress
- Immigrant loneliness
- Parenting far from your own culture
- Migratory grief and lost credentials
- Intergenerational tension in immigrant families
How it works
Everything begins with a brief initial conversation, so we can get a sense of whether we are a good fit. Sessions are by secure video, at a rhythm that suits your life. See how it works for fees and what to expect — or read this page em português.
You don't have to sort this out alone.
If something in you is asking for a space to talk, this is a good place to start.
