Support for low mood and depression
Some days feel heavy and flat, and getting through them takes more than you seem to have. Things that used to matter feel far away. You may be functioning — working, caring for everyone — while feeling quietly empty underneath.
You don't need the right words or a clear explanation to begin. We start where you are, gently, and look together at what has been weighing on you.
What low mood can look like
- A persistent heaviness, flatness, or emptiness
- Losing interest in things you used to enjoy
- Low energy, and changes in sleep or appetite
- Difficulty concentrating or making decisions
- Pulling away from people
- Feeling numb, tearful — or both in the same day
Who this is for
This work is for adults carrying a heaviness that won't lift on its own — whether it arrived with a loss, a transition, exhaustion, or slowly, over time.
What sessions focus on
There is no pressure to perform being okay here. Depending on where you are, our work might focus on:
- Understanding what is contributing to your low mood
- Small, doable steps for the days when motivation is scarce
- Noticing patterns of self-criticism, and responding with more fairness
- Reconnecting with people, routines, and things that once gave life texture
- Making room for feelings that have had nowhere to go
My approach draws on evidence-based methods — including cognitive-behavioural, emotion-focused, and solution-focused therapy — always shaped around you: your story, your language, your pace.
Working together
Sessions are by secure video, anywhere in Ontario, in English or Portuguese. Everything starts with a brief initial conversation, so we can talk about what brings you here and see whether we are a good fit. See how it works for fees and what to expect.
Other areas of support
You don't have to sort this out alone.
If something in you is asking for a space to talk, this is a good place to start.
