Support for parenting and family stress
Parenting asks more of us than almost anything else — often while we are also working, caring for our own parents, and trying to hold a family together. Many parents I meet are not failing; they are exhausted, stretched thin, and carrying more than one person can hold.
This is a space for you: the adult behind the parent. A place to set things down, be honest about how hard it is, and think clearly about your family again. I work with adults — I don't offer therapy directly to children.
What brings parents here
- Constant overwhelm, or snapping at the people you love most
- Guilt that never quite switches off
- Tension with a partner about parenting
- Raising children far from your own family and culture
- Caring for aging parents at the same time
- Feeling like you've lost yourself in caring for everyone else
Who this is for
This work is for parents and caregivers in Ontario — new parents, parents of teenagers, parents raising children between cultures, and adults caught between caring for children and caring for parents.
What sessions focus on
Sessions focus on you and what you carry. Depending on your situation, we might work on:
- Understanding your own triggers and patterns as a parent
- Steadier ways to respond in heated moments
- Sharing the load — asking for help and setting limits
- Parenting across cultures and generations
- Making space for your own needs, without guilt running the decision
My approach draws on evidence-based methods — including cognitive-behavioural, emotion-focused, and solution-focused therapy — always shaped around you: your story, your language, your pace.
Working together
Sessions are by secure video, anywhere in Ontario, in English or Portuguese. Everything starts with a brief initial conversation, so we can talk about what brings you here and see whether we are a good fit. See how it works for fees and what to expect.
Other areas of support
You don't have to sort this out alone.
If something in you is asking for a space to talk, this is a good place to start.
