Therapy for anxiety and stress
A busy mind that won't switch off. A body that stays braced even when nothing is wrong. Worry that follows you from the moment you wake up into the small hours of the night. Anxiety has many shapes, and most people who live with it are very good at looking fine from the outside.
In therapy, we slow down enough to understand what your anxiety is doing — when it shows up, what it is trying to protect you from, and what it costs you — so it stops running the whole show.
What anxiety can look like
- Racing or looping thoughts that are hard to set down
- Trouble falling asleep, or waking with your mind already running
- Tension, restlessness, a knot in your stomach
- Avoiding places, people, conversations, or decisions
- Irritability that surprises you
- Feeling on edge most days without knowing exactly why
Who this is for
This work is for adults in Ontario who feel that worry or stress is taking up too much room — whether it is tied to work, family, health, a big transition, or nothing you can quite name.
What sessions focus on
Sessions are a place to make sense of your patterns, at your pace. Depending on what you need, we might focus on:
- Noticing and naming what tends to trigger your anxiety
- Practical ways to settle your body and mind in hard moments
- The thoughts that loop, and how to respond to them differently
- Building a steadier daily rhythm — sleep, rest, and limits
- Understanding what your anxiety is protecting, not just fighting it
My approach draws on evidence-based methods — including cognitive-behavioural, emotion-focused, and solution-focused therapy — always shaped around you: your story, your language, your pace.
Working together
Sessions are by secure video, anywhere in Ontario, in English or Portuguese. Everything starts with a brief initial conversation, so we can talk about what brings you here and see whether we are a good fit. See how it works for fees and what to expect.
Other areas of support
You don't have to sort this out alone.
If something in you is asking for a space to talk, this is a good place to start.
